Marvin Sussman has broad experience in the field of wills, trusts and estates, specializing in estate planning for families, single persons and surviving spouses.
Mr. Sussman's background includes drafting wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, insurance trusts, special needs trusts, charitable annuity and remainder trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, generation-skipping trusts and dynasty trusts, among others. He also specializes in estate and trust administration, including probate of wills, post-mortem tax planning, collection and distribution of assets and insurance, income and estate tax return preparation and advice, disposition of real estate and cooperative apartments, and business succession, as well as advising clients on lifetime and post-mortem gifts to family, friends and charities.
Mr. Sussman received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his law degree from the Hastings College of Law, University of California, San Francisco. He is a Trustee of the Hastings 1066 Foundation and is a member of the American Bar Association, the California State Bar Association, and the New York County Lawyers' Association (and a member of the Section on Estates, Trusts and Surrogate's Court Practice).
