Robert W. Freiman has practiced in the field of estates and trusts for over thirty-five years, representing a broad spectrum of clients from many walks of life with diverse kinds of assets, including closely held businesses and private and commercial real estate holdings.
He has extensive experience in estate planning and the administration of estates and trusts of all sizes and types, and his practice includes the creation of wills, trusts and other estate planning instruments, gift, estate and generation-skipping taxation, business succession, the legal aspects of health care and disability, the uses of insurance and charitable giving. Mr. Freiman represents clients in proceedings in the Surrogate's Court and before the Internal Revenue Service. With long-standing relationships with his clients, he brings a problem solving approach, professional sophistication and personal sensitivity to the needs of his clients.
He is currently a member of the New York-Presbyterian Hospital Planned Giving Advisory Council and of The Metropolitan Museum of Art Professional Advisory Council, and is a former President and Trustee of the Board of Education of the East Williston, New York schools.
Mr. Freiman is a 1966 graduate of the University of Rochester, earned his JD at New York University School of Law in 1969, and is a member of both the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and of the New York State Bar Association, where he is a member of the Estates and Trusts and Elder Law Sections. He is a former partner at both Phillips Nizer and at Mandel Resnik.
